I. GOD WANTS TO RESTORE OUR PASSION FOR WORSHIP
1. The Biggest Complaint
– Why
Conflicts with others
Conflict with God – Sin
Priorities out of alignment
Weary in well-doing
God wants to restore your passion for worship
“I will repay you for the years the locusts have eaten.” Joel 2:25
2. What should the Church’s 1st priority be?
Option #1 “This church needs to ____ and you better do something about it.”
EPHESIANS 4:11 – 13 “It was he who gave some to be apostles, some to be prophets, some to be evangelists, and some to be pastors and teachers, (WHY) to prepare God's people for works of service, so that the body of Christ may be built up until we all reach unity in the faith and in the knowledge of the Son of God and become mature, attaining to the whole measure of the fullness of Christ.”
Option #2 “Pastor I really have a burden for ____. Would it be alright if I took the lead to see what we can do in this area?”
II. GOD WANTS TO RESTORE OUR PASSION FOR PRAYER
1. Our biggest pastime
2. Why complain when you can pray?
III. GOD WANTS TO RESTORE OUR PASSION FOR ALL OF MANKIND
1. Christianity is not exclusive
“The Lord is not slow in keeping his promise, as some understand slowness. He is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance.” 2 Peter 3:9
2. Only one God
3. Only one Mediator
“If only there were someone to arbitrate between us, to lay his hand upon us both, someone to remove God's rod from me, so that his terror would frighten me no more.” Job 9:33 – 34
- Man
- Ransom
- Mediator
Isaiah 49:16 “Look, I’ve written your names on the backs of my hands.”
The amplified version:
“I have indelibly imprinted (tattooed a picture of) you on the palm of each of My hands.”
